What Is ArtMaker?
ArtMaker is an online multi-media art teaching resource that is being developed for teaching institutions and independent students.
Each series of ArtMaker will cover a specific artistic discipline, presented by a professional artist who specialises in that field. The first series will be a structured course of in-depth drawing lessons, presented by successful Sydney artist and teacher, Michael Herron. Michael perfectly reflects the vision of ArtMaker – to be generous with knowledge that would otherwise take a lifetime to attain.
Users can login to view quality video tutorials from the ArtMaker website. Tutorials will be available for use in the classroom, at home, or on the move. All ArtMaker Lessons have acompanying resources including preparation sheets, summary sheets, extension activities, evaluations, and instructional posters which will be available for download for use in the classroom.
The resources are being produced by artists and education experts, working together to achieve the highest standard possible. Whether the topic is drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, animation or street art, the combination of straightforward tutorials, professional insight and multimedia delivery will inspire, enable and empower the next generation of art makers.

A Labour of Love
Building ArtMaker is definitely a labour of love. This site - powered by vision (and cash) - is the tip of a very daunting iceberg for its creators. We've invested tens of thousands of dollars, and countless professional hours in getting this far, because we know that classic art education can be accessed (and schools of thought harnessed) through online community platforms. We also know that we can do great, original things with this nascent but unrivaled project.
Art is more than a vehicle for recognition and gain. It is what moves us to the core. We've been practicing successfully for decades, yet constantly reinvesting in our passion. It's why we "go without" so much of the time. We love what we do, and giving something back by sharing our knowledge in a thoughtful and generous way is what ArtMaker is about.
We believe that truly "fine" art begins with respect for technique, so we've started with the basics in "AMD100, Still Life". It's a modest start that's taken several years to realise, but now that we've launched, we aim to make ArtMaker the world's leading online art education resource.
If you like what we're doing, any contribution to our efforts is most welcome and appreciated. You will be honoured as a valued ArtMaker Patron on our Benefactor's Page. Of course, you can contribute anonymously (and we'll be forever grateful)!
